Seattle Primed Cedarmill James Hardie Siding Replacement With Two-Color SuperPaint & Evening Blue Garage Eaves

This project moved from full siding demolition and debris disposal through a complete primed Cedarmill James Hardie installation and a two-coat field-painted finish.

The wall system included HardieWrap, sealing tape, HardieFlash, 26GA window flashing, Hardie trim, metal transitions, exterior blocks, and 8 1/4-inch Cedarmill HardiePlank with a 7-inch reveal.

The finish phase used two coats of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in satin, plus a separate Evening Blue paint scope on the garage eaves.

Demolition and Debris Removal

Old siding was demolished and construction debris was hauled away as part of the project. Handling removal and cleanup within the siding scope gave the new exterior a clear starting point.

HardieWrap, Sealing Tape, and Flashing

HardieWrap paper, Hardie sealing tape, 4-inch HardieFlash, 26GA head flashing, W inside corners, window/block flashing, and Z-metal formed the documented water-management sequence.

Primed Cedarmill HardiePlank

The primary siding was 8 1/4-inch primed Cedarmill HardiePlank with a 7-inch reveal. The primed product allowed the main color palette to be completed in the field instead of arriving as factory-finished ColorPlus material.

Two-Coat Satin SuperPaint

After pressure washing, the exterior received two coats of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in satin. One color covered the siding body and eaves soffit, while the second covered window trim, fascia, and corners.

Evening Blue Garage Eaves

The garage eaves received a separate Evening Blue Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint scope, including labor and materials. That distinct finish detail gives CASE #40 a specific paint story beyond the main two-color house scheme.

Why This Scope Matters in Pacific Northwest Conditions

Pacific Northwest siding work has to account for repeated rain, wind-driven moisture, shaded wall sections, and long wet seasons. The strongest project scopes do not ask the finished siding to do every job by itself. They coordinate the documented substrate, weather barrier, flashing, trim, blocks, soffit, panel seams, sealant, and finish details so water has a controlled path outward and the exterior can age as one system.

Outcome and Homeowner / Property Owner Value

The finished project is valuable because the visible James Hardie material is tied to the supporting work documented in the source scope. That makes the page a proof asset for KV Construction’s full-system approach rather than a generic materials list. Where a source detail is missing or ambiguous, this package keeps it open instead of inventing a product, color, repair condition, or location.
