An Exterior Siding Replacement Focused on Longevity and Moisture Control
This exterior renovation project was completed on a residential home and detached garage in Everett, where aging cedar materials and prolonged exposure to moisture had begun to impact both appearance and performance. The scope of work focused on removing worn components and installing a cohesive exterior system designed to improve durability, water management, and long-term consistency across the property.
This project is part of our broader Everett exterior siding work, supporting homeowners facing similar material and climate-related challenges.
The original cedar siding and soffits on both the house and garage showed clear signs of age. Over time, exposure to moisture had contributed to surface wear, material fatigue, and areas that required closer inspection during removal. Addressing these conditions required a full tear-off of the existing siding and soffit materials to allow for proper preparation before new components were installed.

“…They demonstrated exceptional professionalism and efficiency, and the final result exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend KV Construction LLC for their outstanding work…”

Material Selection and System Approach
A fiber cement siding system with a consistent factory finish was selected to replace the original cedar materials. The new siding profile provided the look of traditional wood while offering improved resistance to moisture, rot, and long-term weather exposure.
Trim and corners
Arctic White trim components, including X corners and L metal door trim, were used throughout the exterior to create clean transitions and visual consistency.
Installation Details and Craft Execution
The installation process emphasized precision and long-term performance. flashing was installed at all siding seams to manage water movement and improve protection.
Soffits
Matching soffit panels were installed on both the house and garage to complete the exterior envelope with a uniform finish. The updated siding, trim, and soffit system provides a more durable exterior envelope while maintaining a clean, balanced appearance across all elevations.
Z flashing and blocks
Z flashing was installed above doors, windows, and all exterior blocks to help direct moisture away from vulnerable areas. Light blocks, outlet blocks, water blocks, and vent blocks were integrated into the siding system, each finished with Arctic White components to maintain a cohesive appearance.
