Marysville Primed James Hardie Lap Siding With Full T1-11 Tear-Off & New 7/16 OSB Sheathing
This project started deeper than a standard re-side: old T1-11 panels were removed and replaced with new 7/16-inch OSB plywood before the new James Hardie system was installed.
The new substrate was covered with HardieWrap and detailed with seam tape, HardieFlash, window head flashing, metal transitions, Hardie trim, dedicated exterior blocks, and 6 1/4-inch primed lap siding with a 5-inch reveal.
The source leaves one material detail unresolved—‘Cedarmill or Smooth?’—so the package does not assign a texture until it can be confirmed.

“Vasily and Katrina were excellent to work with! Vasily did a fine job on a siding replacement for my home, I would have expected to pay more for the quality of work done! I would highly reccomend to any homeowner who needs siding replaced, high quality work and a perfect time scale for the repair, ill be a returning customer!“
Full T1-11 Panel Tear-Off
Removing the old T1-11 changed the wall assembly rather than merely the appearance. It created the opportunity to establish a new substrate before the weather barrier and fiber cement siding went on.
New 7/16-Inch OSB Sheathing
The new OSB is one of the most important hidden upgrade. It gave the HardieWrap and siding system a consistent base instead of asking the new exterior to depend on the older T1-11 panels.
HardieWrap and Flashing
HardieWrap, 1 1/2-inch seam tape, 4-inch HardieFlash, 26GA window head flashing, W inside corners, window/block flashing, and Z-metal created a layered moisture-management sequence.
6 1/4-Inch Lap With a 5-Inch Reveal
The narrower 6 1/4-inch lap siding creates more horizontal courses than an 8 1/4-inch profile. The 5-inch reveal therefore gives the finished exterior a tighter visual rhythm.
Texture Pending Confirmation
The source literally states ‘Cedarmill or Smooth?’ Because that detail is unresolved, neither texture is used as a confirmed specification in the project title, metadata, or main content.
Why This Scope Matters in Pacific Northwest Conditions
Pacific Northwest siding work has to account for repeated rain, wind-driven moisture, shaded wall sections, and long wet seasons. The strongest project scopes do not ask the finished siding to do every job by itself. They coordinate the documented substrate, weather barrier, flashing, trim, blocks, soffit, panel seams, sealant, and finish details so water has a controlled path outward and the exterior can age as one system.
Outcome and Homeowner / Property Owner Value
The finished project is valuable because the visible James Hardie material is tied to the supporting work documented in the source scope. That makes the page a proof asset for KV Construction’s full-system approach rather than a generic materials list. Where a source detail is missing or ambiguous, this package keeps it open instead of inventing a product, color, repair condition, or location.
