Redmond Primed James Hardie Lap Siding & Smooth HardiePanel Exterior With Continuous-Vent Soffit
This project combined 6 1/4-inch primed James Hardie lap siding with Smooth HardiePanels and a vented eaves-soffit detail.
The panel areas used H channels between seams and X-corner profiles, while flashing was included around windows and exterior blocks.
The source scope is concise, so the project package stays equally disciplined: it highlights the confirmed siding, panel, flashing, corner, and 2-inch continuous-vent soffit details without inventing a WRB, trim package, sealant, or paint system that was not supplied.

Mixed Lap Siding and Panel Exterior
Using 6 1/4-inch lap siding together with Smooth HardiePanels gives the exterior two distinct scales: repeated horizontal courses and broader clean panel fields. Both remain within the same fiber cement material family.
H Channels Between Panel Seams
H channels create defined transitions between Smooth HardiePanel sheets. On broad flat panel surfaces, seam alignment is highly visible, so a repeatable channel detail becomes part of the finished architecture.
X Corner Details
X corners were included with the panel work. The source does not specify gauge, manufacturer, or finish, so the project package keeps the description at the documented level rather than guessing a metal specification.
Flashing at Windows and Blocks
Flashing was included around windows and all exterior blocks. These are the wall interruptions where PNW rain can test the installation, even when the broad siding field remains dry.
Eaves Soffit With 2-Inch Continuous Vent
The eaves received new soffit installation with a 2-inch continuous vent. The source does not provide broader attic-ventilation calculations, so the package describes the confirmed continuous-vent detail without making unsupported performance claims.
Why This Scope Matters in Pacific Northwest Conditions
Pacific Northwest siding work has to account for repeated rain, wind-driven moisture, shaded wall sections, and long wet seasons. The strongest project scopes do not ask the finished siding to do every job by itself. They coordinate the documented substrate, weather barrier, flashing, trim, blocks, soffit, panel seams, sealant, and finish details so water has a controlled path outward and the exterior can age as one system.
Outcome and Homeowner / Property Owner Value
The finished project is valuable because the visible James Hardie material is tied to the supporting work documented in the source scope. That makes the page a proof asset for KV Construction’s full-system approach rather than a generic materials list. Where a source detail is missing or ambiguous, this package keeps it open instead of inventing a product, color, repair condition, or location.
