KV Construction worked with a builder on a new construction project at 11715 23rd Ave NE in Seattle’s Pinehurst area. The property included a single-family residence with an attached additional dwelling unit and a detached additional dwelling unit, making consistency across multiple structures a key part of the exterior scope.
The siding package included HardieWrap, Hardie seam tape, HardieFlash, smooth HardiePanels with 1×3 smooth Allura battens, smooth Hardie 8 1/4-inch lap siding per plan, Allura smooth outside corners, Allura smooth window and door trim, Allura belly band, light/outlet/water bib blocks, flashing at all windows and blocks, and QUAD MAX caulking.
The project also included eaves soffit with smooth HardiePanels and 3/8-inch Tamlyn aluminum channel at seams, 1×6 TK tongue-and-groove soffit on two entryways, 45 windows, and one sliding door. For Seattle infill construction with ADUs, this kind of coordinated siding package helps the property look planned, not pieced together.

The property included multiple residential structures, so material consistency was important. KV Construction kept the exterior language aligned across the single-family home and ADUs.
Smooth HardiePanels with 1×3 smooth Allura battens created a clean board-and-batten look. This gives the exterior vertical rhythm and a modern residential feel.
Smooth Hardie 8 1/4-inch lap siding was installed where called for in the plan. Combining panels and lap siding creates visual separation without using unrelated materials.
The project used 5/4×8 Allura smooth belly band, 5/4×4 smooth Allura corners, and Allura window and door trim. These pieces help organize the siding transitions across the buildings.
Two entryways received 1×6 TK tongue-and-groove soffit, adding warmth to the entry points while the main siding remains clean and modern.
