Port Orchard Primed James Hardie Cedarmill Siding With OSB Sheathing Repair, Arctic White Fascia & Column Wrap

This project went beyond installing new siding by addressing the substrate, gables, fascia, entry beam, columns, and final paint system as one exterior scope.

Rotten spots in the existing T1-11 plywood were replaced with OSB, and all gables received OSB before HardieWrap and the new James Hardie system were installed.

The finished exterior used 8 1/4-inch primed Cedarmill Hardie lap siding with a 7-inch reveal, Arctic White Hardie fascia and entry wraps, and a two-color Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint finish.

Correcting T1-11 Damage Before Siding

All rotten T1-11 locations in the documented scope were replaced with OSB plywood. That is the key distinction between a complete exterior project and a cosmetic overlay: damaged substrate was addressed before the new cladding covered the wall.

OSB on the Gables

OSB plywood was also installed across all gables. Creating a consistent gable substrate prepared those areas for the HardieWrap, flashing, and siding system instead of treating them as exceptions to the rest of the project.

HardieWrap and Full Flashing Package

HardieWrap, 1 1/2-inch seam tape, 4-inch HardieFlash, 26GA window head flashing, W inside corners, flashing around windows and blocks, and Z-metal formed the documented water-management sequence.

Arctic White Fascia, Beam, and Columns

Gable fascia was replaced with Arctic White Hardie 5/4×6. The front beam and two columns were wrapped with Arctic White lap siding, bringing the entry architecture into the same exterior material strategy.

Two-Color SuperPaint Finish

Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint was specified in two colors: one for the siding body and eaves soffit, and one for window trim, fascia, and corners. Exact color names were not supplied, so they remain open.

Why This Scope Matters in Pacific Northwest Conditions

Pacific Northwest siding work has to account for repeated rain, wind-driven moisture, shaded wall sections, and long wet seasons. The strongest project scopes do not ask the finished siding to do every job by itself. They coordinate the documented substrate, weather barrier, flashing, trim, blocks, soffit, panel seams, sealant, and finish details so water has a controlled path outward and the exterior can age as one system.

Outcome and Homeowner / Property Owner Value

The finished project is valuable because the visible James Hardie material is tied to the supporting work documented in the source scope. That makes the page a proof asset for KV Construction’s full-system approach rather than a generic materials list. Where a source detail is missing or ambiguous, this package keeps it open instead of inventing a product, color, repair condition, or location.
