KV Construction completed a James Hardie lap siding replacement at 82nd Ct in Shoreline, WA. The project included old siding tear-off, construction debris disposal, OSB plywood installation, HardieWrap, HardieWrap window tape, flashing at window trim and blocks, and primed James Hardie lap siding.
The new siding package used 8 1/4-inch primed James Hardie lap siding with a 7-inch reveal, 5/4×4 primed rustic James Hardie outside corners, and primed rustic trim details. The crew applied 5x max-strength caulking to support a cleaner sealed finish before paint.
Shoreline homes sit between Seattle’s urban weather exposure and the moisture-heavy conditions around North King County. This project focused on giving the home a stronger siding base with OSB sheathing, proper wrap, flashing, and fiber cement material suited for long-term rain resistance.

The project started with removal of the existing siding and installation of OSB plywood. That step gave the new Hardie system a better substrate and helped reset the wall surface before wrap and siding.
HardieWrap and 4-inch HardieWrap window tape were installed before the siding and trim. These layers support water control around the wall and openings.
The new siding used 8 1/4-inch primed James Hardie lap siding with a 7-inch reveal. This creates a clean horizontal profile that fits Shoreline residential architecture.
5/4×4 primed rustic James Hardie corners give the exterior stronger edges and a finished trim line around the siding field.
KV Construction installed flashing at window trim and blocks to help protect common water-entry points. Those details are important in a rainy North Seattle and Shoreline climate.
