This Shoreline exterior project focused on the upper siding sections of the left and right sides of the home. KV Construction replaced the siding above the existing belly band while keeping the new material aligned with the reveal of the surrounding Smart LP siding.
The project also included new flashing at the belly-band transition and painting the replacement siding before installation.

The replacement scope was concentrated on the left and right sides of the house above the belly band. Rather than changing the entire exterior profile, the new Smart LP siding was installed to maintain the same reveal as the existing siding. Matching the existing layout helped the replacement areas remain visually consistent with the rest of the home.
The belly band creates a horizontal transition between exterior siding sections. New flashing was installed at this transition before the replacement siding was completed. The siding was positioned approximately 1/2 inch above the flashing, following the documented project scope. For Shoreline homes exposed to Pacific Northwest rain, horizontal transitions like belly bands are important areas to detail carefully because they interrupt the normal drainage path of the wall.
The replacement siding was painted before installation. Pre-finishing the material allowed the new siding sections to receive their coating before being installed on the exterior. The source does not specify the paint manufacturer, color, number of coats, or sheen.
This case shows how a focused exterior scope can address specific siding sections while preserving the existing architectural layout. The left and right elevations above the belly band received replacement Smart LP siding, the new material was painted before installation, and new flashing was incorporated at the horizontal transition.
