View Ridge Light Mist ColorPlus Hardie Siding Replacement
KV Construction completed a full siding replacement at 54th Ave NE in Seattle’s View Ridge neighborhood. The project included old lead-painted siding removal, construction debris disposal, HydroGap drainable housewrap, HydroTape DS sealing tape, Obdyke HydroFlash around windows and doors, and a pre-painted ColorPlus James Hardie lap siding system.
The siding was installed with 8 1/4-inch ColorPlus Hardie lap siding from the Statement Collection in Light Mist, paired with Arctic White rustic Hardie 5/4×4 corners, window trim, and door trim. The package also included white 26GA W inside corners, white flashing on windows and blocks, Z metal flashing, pre-painted Hardie light blocks, outlet blocks, and water bib blocks.
The crew also handled fascia-related repairs and detail work, including removing old fascia moulding under existing L metal, installing ripped 5/4×4 Arctic White siding, adding conduit pipe where the chimney wall needed it, and installing black L metal on dormers.

HydroGap Drainable Wrap for View Ridge Rain Exposure
HydroGap creates a small drainage space behind the siding, which is especially valuable in Seattle neighborhoods where wind-driven rain and shaded walls can keep exteriors damp.

Light Mist gives the home a soft, clean body color, while Arctic White trim sharpens the windows, doors, corners, and blocks. The combination is bright without feeling harsh.
Lead-Painted Siding Removal Before New ColorPlus Installation
The old lead-painted siding was removed before the new system went on. This allowed KV Construction to install the drainage plane, flashing, and ColorPlus siding without trapping old exterior issues.
Window and Door Openings Sealed With Obdyke HydroFlash
The openings were treated with 2-inch Obdyke HydroFlash GP tape, HydroTape DS, 26GA window flashing, and white Z flashing details. These details support long-term moisture control.
Fascia and Dormer Metal Details Corrected
KV Construction fixed fascia details, removed old fascia moulding under L metal, and added black L metal on dormers. The small metal details help protect the roofline and give the exterior a cleaner edge.
Pre-Painted Blocks Integrated Into the ColorPlus System
Light, outlet, and water bib blocks were installed as part of the siding layout. Integrating them cleanly helps reduce awkward cuts and supports better flashing around penetrations.
